Here is the help we need.

We are working toward one shared name for every construction component. We have the drafts. What we don't have is your word for it: what it is called on the job, where the line between two items really falls, and what we are missing.

Access is by invitation. Send your email and role; we'll be in touch.

What you do

One item at a time. Four questions.

You open an item, say a closet slider. Its name, a one-line definition, and the names we have heard for it so far. Then you answer what you can and press Done. The next one loads.

Recognise
"Do you recognise this?"

Yes, yes by another name, or no. One tap.

Names
"What do you call this on the job?"

Strike any name nobody says. Add the ones you hear.

Definition
"Is this right?"

Tick or cross each line of what the item includes, what it doesn't, and where it is usually installed.

Missing
"Anything in this family you price that we don't have?"

Name it the way you would on a quote.

Every card has a Something else to say? button. Tap it, talk, and we turn it into text you can fix before sending. Or type. Either way, it is your words, not a form.

What it takes

A few minutes per item, whenever you like.

There is no schedule and no meeting. Open it on your phone between site visits or on a laptop at the end of the day.

What we ask, honestly:
  • A few minutes per item. Answer what you know; skip what you don't.
  • Whenever suits you. Nothing is live; nobody is waiting on the other end.
  • Phone or laptop. Nothing to install; it runs in the browser.
  • Stop any time. Each item saves on its own when you press Done.
Why it matters to you

Names that match how you price.

Today the same baseboard reaches you as a legend code, a guess in a spreadsheet and a phone call. Every hop is re-typed. A shared name that the people who price the work agreed on means fewer re-typed takeoffs, fewer call-backs to confirm what a line means, and a vocabulary that sounds like the trade, not like a catalogue.

We are not there yet. That is exactly why we are asking.

How access works

By invitation. No password.

We are inviting a small number of working estimators, quantity surveyors, takeoff and trade people first. Here is the whole process.

From request to first item:
  1. Request access. One email with your name, role, company and LinkedIn profile.
  2. We review it. A person reads it. We are looking for people who price real work.
  3. You get an invite. A reply from us with the address of the review tool.
  4. Sign in with an email code. Enter your email, we send a 6-digit code, you are in. No password to make or remember.

What we do with your answers

They shape the names. You never edit anything.

We read every answer and every voice note. When the people who price the work agree on a name or a boundary, that is what we work toward. When they don't, that is a question we keep open instead of guessing. Nothing changes automatically: a person reads, decides and records every change.
